Celebrations
Tell us about any awards,
commendations, special mentions you have received and we'll
broadcast them to the world here. Again, just email
details to the LMC Office
and we'll do the rest. Embarrassing
photographs are particularly welcome!
We are delighted to
tell you that all speakers at the February 2008
LMC Conference in Falmouth kindly donated their fees
to the Precious Lives Appeal, meaning the fund for
providing a new Children's Hospice in Cornwall was
swollen by a massive £1000. A very sincere "Thank
You" to all who so generously donated their fees in this
way, not just from us but also from all the children and
their families who stand to benefit immensely once the
Hospice is up and running.
If you feel you would like to make a contribution to this
very worthy cause, please contact Radio Cornwall, to whom our
cheque was presented on behalf of the LMC. Make any
cheques out to BBC RADIO CORNWALL APPEAL (CCF) and post them to
Precious Lives, BBC Radio Cornwall, Phoenix Wharf, Truro, TR1
1UA.
Thanks,
Ros
The first and most appropriate
celebration to post must be a HUGE "Thank You" to Ros
Winter, who retired at the end of August 2006 after a
glorious fifteen years as LMC Secretary. We wish her
all the very best in her retirement and will forever owe
her a huge debt of gratitude for all the hard work she put
in to getting the LMC to where it is today.
Thank you, Ros.
Centenary Celebrations
Only two years to go and the LMC will be 100 years
old. Who thinks we should celebrate this incredible
milestone? Your thoughts on what we should do to mark the
event would be welcome. Dawn already has an idea or
two.
